Kids in Distress 

Kids In Distress (KID) is a nationally-accredited, community-supported agency based in South Florida, specializing in children and families. KID provides services that prevent and treat child abuse, while also educating and strengthening families. KID’s programs offer care and support to families that are at-risk for abuse and neglect, and to the innocent children who suffer the effects, by tackling difficult issues like substance abuse, domestic violence, juvenile delinquency, teen pregnancy, school dropout, and family conflict.

Child abuse is the nation’s leading cause of death for children under the age of three, with over three million cases reported each year. In South Florida alone, more than one in 27 children is abused or neglected. KID is an industry leader when it comes to preventing and treating this appalling statistic. Children whose families have failed them come to us on a daily basis, begging the question, “Whose child is this?” At KID, we believe that they are ours collectively, until we find a loving, safe, permanent home for them.
